Paragliding in Mendoza Argentina
February 24, 2007
Mendoza, Argentina
I went paragliding today with a few other guys from the hostel; an English dude and a few girls from Switzerland. We all thought, at first, that paragliding was just like hang gliding. But it ends up that it's quite different. It's more like parachuting.

So I get up there and the first thing I see is a dude running off of a cliff with his instructor, not quite a welcoming sight when I'm on the top of a mountain. But anyways, I did it. I lost my shoe on takeoff because my instructor-guy stepped on my foot. It was all fun and games until it came to the landing. These things don't land as easily as you might think. No, you come down with a bit of a bang. And without having a shoe on left foot it definitely hurt quite a bit. I had a huge blood blister on the bottom of my heel a few seconds after landing. I popped it and everything is fine now.
